Can a Colombian citizen legally find temporary work in the United States, if so through what agency?
I have a friend that is a native Colombian and he would like to come to the US for one summer to work and to perfect his English, the Colombian agency he interviewed with offered him a wonderful job at McDonald's!!! My friend is currently in college and speaks nearly perfect English, does he have to wash dishes and make fries?!?

No. There are specific and strict immigration laws for people wanting to work in the US. You can find them at the USCIS website. A few of them are professionals with valid documents to prove it and US immigration will do background check on these credentials.. A student in Columbia is already a liability. Colombian agency offering job at McDonald?? You gotta be kidding me? There are lots of US citizens and permanent residents here who cannot find work in the US and your friend was offered work at Mc Donald? That is a scam. They are just after your friends money period. He won't even do any work at McDonald as chances are impossible. Most companies here require proof of your residency and the right to work in the US. The US government has given strict compliance to companies on this law. Hiring illegal aliens is a big NO...unless employers wanting good profit at the expense of illegal aliens and if caught, you will end up in jail...and deported Do things the legal way. I know it takes time but better be safe than sorry. As far as an Agency? There is no agency I know of, as there are lots of unemployed americans right now and the US government wants them employed first before hiring others outside the US.
