What does "eligibility to work in the United States" mean

What does "eligibility to work in the United States" mean?
Ciao! I don't understand the meaning of "eligibility to work in the United States"; I am a European citizen and quite often find on the web very interesting job offers that match my qualifications, and I'd be interested in applying. The thing is they all require a proof of eligibility. What is it? It means I need to be authorised to work in the US, ok, but how exactly? If I have no criminal records in any country but I have never lived in the US, am I eligible? Or "eligible" is only someone who already IS in the US? Would a contract or a statement of interest from an employer make me eligible? Thanks everyone! Ok, so it seems that only American citizens can work in the US! And, of course, people having a work-permit. Then, again, how is one supposed to get a work permit if he/she does not have a job, and how is one supposed to get a job if he/she does not have a working permit? I am puzzled :-)

Green card _Work Visa_ US citizen

you have a work permit or visa work permit....
3 :
They are NOT truly internet jobs, but require you to live in and go to an office in the USA.
4 :
You have to be a U.S. citizen and you have to have proof of it. You have to have a social security number and a green card. If you have these, then you can work here.
5 :
I supplied the United States I-9 listing that shows documentation that proves you are eligible to work in the US. Companies in the US use this form below to determine if you are eligible.

its actually a certificate qualify you to work in US. search in internet for the american embassy, they should say something about the documnets you need to prepare to obtain a work permit in US, like passport, visa (if you need) , resume, education certificate approved from some departments in you country, and stuff like that. it shouldn't be hard to get, just routine paper work. will take week or two maximum. good luck with your career.

eligibility means available for any kind of work hope this helps

You must be either a U.S. citizen, have a work visa or work permit which can only be obtained by an employer. A contract is not enough; you will need the proper paperwork, and your employer should have known that. Contact them and have them do the proper paperwork.

Can i live in Mexico and work in the United States?

By living in Baja California for longer than 6 months, you will lose your US Green Card status. I would not recommend doing this until you get your US Citizenship.
2 :
You would lose your greencard. also it wouldnt be worth it, 4 hour waits a day to ge tover the boarder. that would outweigh any cost saving.

Will a satellite dish and receiver bought in Iraq work in the United States

Will a satellite dish and receiver bought in Iraq work in the United States?
I'm currently deployed to Iraq. Hacked satellite receivers and dishes that receive hundreds of channels are readily available. Will one of them work if set up in the United States? I know many other service members have probably tried to bring them back to the States in the past, so I'm hoping someone knows someone who has tried.

Are you so poor you can't buy another satellite dish in the US? Seems like too much of a hassle to bring a satellite dish all the way from Iraq.
