Both and iDEN, Nextel and Boost. CDMA-Sprint, Verizon GSM-T-Mobile, Cingular all others suck, but T-Mobile is the best.
2 :
it depends on whose service you have cingular uses GSM the CDMA phones still work but they are slowly trying to do away with it if you are looking for a phone look for GSM technology or EDGE technology

Can European Socialism work in the United States

Can European Socialism work in the United States?
Can the social programs that exist in small European nations be brought to a large population country like the United States with out bankrupting the country?

First we'll have to cull our population down to be as homogeneous White as the Euros. Then we'll have to split the states completely to work on their own to find out.
2 :
No...It's not even working in Europe!
3 :
No, because we spend much more on poverty aid than they do. They have services for people, not giveaways for the poor. if we tried to have our welfare state and a socialized service economy, we would be looking at 80% tax.
4 :
Well I think one reason they work so well over there is because the countries are so small. It would be hard to for us to mimic European nations given our current political structure. We would need a massive overhaul first, but I think that is impossible for now given how much the public seems to hate change (i.e the health care bill). Sigh
5 :
Probably not, Americans don't have the education to appreciate it.
6 :
it could but america has a capitalist culture so i don`t think that the better of Americans would accept the higher taxes as they tend to be a lot less social minded than most europeans thors answer is total nonsense the EU has a Є8billion ($11.5billion) aid budget and represents 60% of total world development aid(more than US,Japan,China and other countries combined).
7 :
Depends which form of socialism you choose--some are much more successful on the initial proposal/sales & services and consumers are more ready to collaborate in the unified effort.
8 :
Would that mean we would spend 20% of our income on outer wear sit in a coffee shop giving everyone a smug self satisfied look for hours than get behind the wheel of a toy car and run everyone off the road No thanks I would not want to live in a mausoleum talking of long bey gone history I prefer to be the envied not the other way around Have you not heard of American exceptional-ism?
9 :
No we dont want any. We dont want it, no matter what flavor the socialism is, we just DO NOT want any. Thanks for asking again, over and over, but America does not want socialism (just so we're clear). In case you still do not understand, WE DO NOT WANT ANY. Let me know if this is still unclear. Those who do are free to leave the US and move to their favorite "socialist utopia"
10 :
what part of Europe the part whos a$$ we kicked or whos a$$ we saved
11 :
it doesn't even work well in europe.
12 :
Some parts yes, others no. Socialized medicine such as the Democrats want, has been proven to work in several large countries, in Europe and elsewhere, and there's no rational reason to believe that it couldn't supplement our private healthcare system here. On the other hand a nationalized banking system, like Republican Senator Graham from SC has repeatedly called for, actually caused the government of Iceland to collapse two years ago.
13 :
We could become a post consumerism democracy if we stopped buying trillions of dollars worth of disposable junk from China The Social agenda only works when you have economic stability. Debtor Nations like ours can never assist the population in achieving a better way of life
14 :
OWB criticizes "consumeristic junk from China" while this jaded cat says God bless China for the dumb poor exploited $1/day workers who allow me to shop at Walmart. Same analysis of problem, different objectives.
15 :
Since they're already bankrupting the European countries - almost none of which meaningfully spend to protect their own sovereignty, their continued existence is 100% dependent on us NOT following their lead.

United States Work Visas vs Regular

United States Work Visas vs Regular?
My boyfriend is coming to live here, he has a visa that allows him 3-6 months here or however that works, and then we'll get him a green card. He wants to work here though, he's 17 and will be 18 in november. I heard there is a difference between a turist visa and a working one. he's not allowed to work then? And how complicated is getting a work visa? **He has a diploma as a car mechanic. engineer. whatever u wanna call it. ** Help? i did some research and found out he may have to apply for a EAD. Car Mechanic falls under Engineering right? It's a "Skilled" job? Someone needs to explain this to me lol he cant even attend school can he?

A tourist visa does not permit the migrant to have employment. Special permission would have to be obtained, and from what I understand such permission is rare and probably highly unlikely in the case you describe.
2 :
You are going about it wrongly ... he will need a K-1 visa ..as a fiancee Follow the flowcharts here http://familybasedimmigration.com/forum/index.php
3 :
Presently, he does not qualify for a fiance visa because of his age alone. He would theoretically qualify for a tourist visa, but he would have to show he is coming here as a tourist temporarily and intends to return to his home country. He would have to list where he would be staying, tourists usually stay at a hotel or with friends (if they have any). If he says he will be staying with his girlfriend, they may consider him an intending resident, which your boyfriend may or may not be, and will deny him visa if they think he is (means, they think he may get married). He must also not lie about his intentions. Some tourists who come here, fall in love, and get married, and the marriage is, therefore, legitimate then papers can be filed. Once married, the work permit only takes a few weeks to obtain, the green card takes over a year, three years thereafter, he can apply for citizenship, if he still remains married during all this time. He can attend an approved vocational school, if after coming here, he applies for and receives an F-1 or a similar visa which will authorize him to attend school. No work is authorized to students except for about 15 hours per week at the institution where he attends. All other will require additional permission.
