Im a permanent resident and plan to live in Baja California close to the border line to be able to work in the United States. Is that possible?

By living in Baja California for longer than 6 months, you will lose your US Green Card status. I would not recommend doing this until you get your US Citizenship.

You would lose your greencard. also it wouldnt be worth it, 4 hour waits a day to ge tover the boarder. that would outweigh any cost saving.
