as long as the tatoo is a) covered up at all times at work b) not mentioned in the interview then your ok. Im not going to mention that the tatoo might be offensive just because most people deam all tatoos offensive...heck i have 3 but it doesnt effect my job as long as Im professional about my appearence.

They are usually seen as a mark of some sort of immaturity. Never see them on bank presidents, maybe on the guy that sweeps up in the bank. I've known people that got tatoos when they were in the Navy, because it was what all guys in the Navy did in those days and now, working out in the regular world, they wear long sleeve shirts to hide them. Right now in the U.S. it is something like a fad among the teen to early 20 year old set, but not too wide spread.

Well tattoos are considered pretty ok now adays especially since it has become the biggest trend around the world..i know alot of people who have their whole arm tattooed and still have an awesome job...its not a big thing now adays..am sure even the guy who interviews you will be having one hidden somewher...but if your planning to get a new one i guess it would be better to get one someplace where it can be easily covered...
