1 :
the us government trades the actors for maple syrup.
2 :
They assure their prospective employers that they are democrats
3 :
I believe they have to have a work visa.
4 :
the studios hire the actors and then the studios pay for and arrange for work permits for the actors the actors themselves do NOT apply for the work permits

Take the EIT/FE exam. You may need to enroll for a Master's degree to convince employers that your degree is equivalent.

If you are a Canadian citizen, but originally born in China, how long can you work in the United States

If you are a Canadian citizen, but originally born in China, how long can you work in the United States?
I know someone from China who went to school in Canada and became a Canadian that way. They have been living/working in the United States for a few years. Is there a time limit on how long they are able to stay in the United States before they have to apply for a green card?

Do some research and start with the US embassy in Canada site at: http://ottawa.usembassy.gov/content/content.asp?section=travel&document=cancits It will contain information about Cnadaians going to the US including for work. To be extra sure, call the Embassy to confirm what you believe applies to your situation.
2 :
in order to work in the US, the person has to have a work visa before going to the US, the limit for the person to stay in the US? is 90 days visa free, so? if this person does not have a work visa? which she would have gotten trough immigration? she would be there illegally.

Being a Canadian does not exempt you from their regulations, specially working and living in the US. For your friend to have worked in the US, they would have had to apply for a work permit. You need to have a work permit that could allow you to apply for a green card after 5 years.
4 :
Canadian citizens are not exempt any work related immigration laws. A Canadian citizen can not just decide one day to work in the United States, they need to get either a H1 Visa or a TN. There are limits on what kind of jobs and educational requirements.

Do arranged marriages really work in the United States

Do arranged marriages really work in the United States?
I have a 27 year old friend who has been trying to get married for years. She feels that because she is getting older she should rush into marriage. It seems that all her friends, including myself, are married. She was born in Pakistan but raised in the United States. Her parents are still trying to arrange her marriage, but she either dislikes the guy because he is not "American" enough or the guy that she likes will not propose to her. If she successfully has an arranged marriage, do you think it will last?

Yes, they do. I know of 2 that work

I know of 2 arranged marriages, as well. One, the lady stabbed her husband to death to get out of it. The other one, the lady left Iran for Canada because her husband was a bum, she was tired of supporting him, and if she divorced in Iran she would be seen as a "disgrace" and wouldn't be able to find employment (according to her). 27 isn't old, and if there is a particular type of guy she wants to marry she should be able to look on her own. But tell her to take her time because North American's aren't everything, either...case in point, just read any given question on M&D.
