Is it possible for one state not to elect a republican/democrat at all? How many candidates can each citizen vote for?

It's not really possible. More than likely,some people are going to vote one or the other. There are almost 500 representatives for the US. Fifty in each state, the people who vote the ubnderdog will be represented.
