What would it take for a woman from Russia to be able to work in the United States

What would it take for a woman from Russia to be able to work in the United States?
I am aware of "Visa" however the Visa available to her is for 3 months. She needs a Visa for 2/3 years for work/school purposes. Is this possible? Also, will marriage help any? I AM NOT INTERESTED IN MARRYING THE GIRL. This is a question I am asking for my sister. Her friend is from Russia and wants to live here and work, so please stop assuming that this question is related to me. And thank you Yak Rider for all the information, it is appreciate.

There's no such visa. There's a work visa for college educated professionals with 2 years experience. This visa is booked full through 2009. There's a student visa that offers very, very limited ability to earn a few dollars spending money. To get this visa she must prove she has the ability to support herself and pay for her education in the United States without needing to work. A 3 month tourist visa will not allow her to work and it will not allow her to attend school. A REAL marriage would allow her the opportunity to immigrate to the United States if found eligible by the US Consulate in Russia. A fake marriage would get her deported and the guy convicted of visa fraud.

Don't get me wrong but there are 300 million + people in the US. Are there lacking suitable women that you would need to look overseas? I dont think sooo!**

Are there people that live in Canada but work in th United States?

Yes this is easy and done everyday in Canada.

It is possible but there are aspects you should consider. You should talk to Employment Insurance to see if any work you do in the USA will be considered "insurable hours" if you ever need to collect EI. Other things like Canada Pension and your health care may be impacted as well. (health care is normally determined by minimum number of days in your province in a 12 month period...not sure of your work-thats why that one is important) Going to school in the USA normally needs a letter from your school stating you are attending fulltime for health care in provinces.

Am I eligible to work in the United States

Am I eligible to work in the United States?
I'm fifteen years of age, and I was applying for a pet sitting job online but at the bottom it had a check box that said "I am eligible to work in the United States." I've lived in America all of my life, but I don't know if this means if I'm sixteen (the usual legal age of working) or if I'm a legal citizen (18+). Can someone please clear this up for me? Thanks!
